Rogue Running (the place where I’ve met my coaches, my friends and my family) is not only starting a campaign but a whole movement. I know I won’t do as good a job explaining it as the site does so please take the time to read below and watch the video and pass it along and then after you do that no matter where you are or what is holding you back get out there and Just Fucking Run.
Just Fucking Run. Those are three already powerful words, but the meaning goes much deeper than you might think. It’s not just a catch phrase, a tagline or a marketing scheme. It’s a mantra for our community, and one that we want to share to inspire forward movement in others.
We have internal debates about who first uttered those words. Most will point to coaches Steve or Amy as the first ones to say it, but neither of them will take credit. We like to think that it wasn’t necessarily borne from a single person, but rather from the collective attitude and energy of those who run with us – the Rogue community.
Some will be offended by the words, but that certainly isn’t our intention. The message is what is important, and it’s hard to convey without strong words. It’s a message that you have to feel at your core with the deepest of convictions. Run… no. Just run… no. Just FUCKING run. YES.
What does it mean? It depends on what you need from it.
Suffering in a race and feel like you can’t go on? Grit your teeth, dig deep, and JFR.
It’s raining and you don’t want to go outside? Put on a hat and JFR.
Traveling for work? Bring your shoes and JFR.
Tired from a long day or late night? Go outside, put one foot in front of the other and JFR.
Obsessed with paces and miles and forgot to have fun? Take off your Garmin, soak in what’s around you and JFR.
Too hot or too cold? Stop complaining and JFR.
Never run before and not sure you can do it? Have the courage to take that first step and JFR.
No motivation for another solo run? Find a friend or a group and JFR.
We don’t know anyone who has ever regretted a run, and with this video we hope to spread the message of fearless, unabashed, and determined movement to others. So, when you aren’t sure whether you can run a certain pace, finish a race or even begin to run at all, ignore the noise in your head and JUST. FUCKING. RUN.
